Simply Sakina™ Emotional Regulation Cards
A gentle guide for big feelings and peaceful hearts
Simply Sakina is a thoughtfully designed set of 22 emotional regulation cards created to help children understand their feelings, calm their bodies, and respond with confidence — all in a way that nurtures connection, compassion, and faith.
Each deck contains cards covering 11 main emotions that your child encompasses daily, with two sets for each emotion:
The first set includes the emotion and helps your child label their emotion -- the first step to regulation. The back of this set provides four OT-inspired coping strategies.
The second set relates to the names of Allah that can be used to regulate and understand that Allah is truly there for us in every emotion and challenge. This side includes a kid-friendly and memorable icon in relation to that special name of Allah. The back of this set includes short affirmations for the parent to remember when helping your child regulate (as a regulated parent is the biggest anchor for a child during their big feelings) and a guide-line for what to say in the middle of those rough moments.
Each card follows a simple, child-friendly format:
“When I feel…” — naming emotions without shame
“I can…” — offering practical, calming strategies
Gentle reassurance — reminding children that feelings are safe and manageable
Rooted in principles of child development and inspired by Islamic values of mercy (rahma), gentleness (lutf), and inner peace (sakina), these cards help children learn that emotions are not something to fear — they are something to understand.

✨ Why Simply Sakina
This is more than a card deck. It is an invitation to slow down, co-regulate, and gently turn the heart toward calm. With repeated use, children build self-regulation skills, self-trust, and a sense that Allah ﷻ is near even in difficult moments.
